The anticipated strike action for 30 September 2015 as planned by NUMSA is not within the stipulated time frames to qualify as a protected protest action and will in all probability no longer proceed. It would appear that their protest action against corruption will now happen on 14 October 2015 which would then make it protected.
In the interim, COSATU has also indicated that it intends to continue with its national protest action on 7 October 2015. This will be also qualify as a protected strike.
