DTI Minister Rob Davies recently warned organisations who do not invest in Enterprise, Suppliers and Skills Development that BEE legislation would be tweaked to ensure that points are deducted from the overall scorecard. He added that Government wanted to encourage close, ongoing relationships between big and small enterprises.
Consequently, Government’s infrastructure roll-out, as well as the Industrial development action plan, stipulated that a certain percentage of equipment must be sourced from local suppliers.
