Furnishing of Security for Review of CCMA Awards

The recent Labour Relations Amendment Act introduced the furnishing of security where employers take CCMA awards on review.

SASLAW has informed its membership that the Judge President has indicated that a Security Bond from the Applicant’s attorneys will be accepted by the Court.

They report further that the Judge President has further confirmed that a Security Bond in substantial compliance with the stipulated Security Bond from a Commercial Bank will likewise be acceptable. SASLAW are currently in the process of settling a precedent for the Security Bond, acceptable to the Judge President, and this will be posted on the SASLAW website shortly.

We will keep you informed of any developments as we receive further information.
