SABPP Accreditation Letter 2020

Global Business Solutions is an accredited training provider under the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) Act requirements. Global Business Solutions was awarded Provisional Accreditation status in 2007 with the Services SETA (Decision number 0209) as a Training Provider of education and training in terms of the SAQA Act 1995.​

In accordance with the requirements of the SAQA Act, Global Business Solutions has embarked on a process of ensuring compliance of all our skills programmes and internal systems to the requirements of the SAQA Act and the regulations of the Education and Training Quality Authority (ETQA) of the Services SETA.​

To this end all our programmes are Outcomes Based and all our systems adhere to the required Quality Management standards. Global Business Solutions offers a select group of skills programmes which are made up of one or more SAQA unit standards; delegates who attend one of these unit standard aligned programmes are therefore eligible to receive a certificate of competence upon successful completion of the programme.​

The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) is a Quality Council established in 2010 in terms of the Skills Development Act (SDA). Its role is to oversee the design, implementation, assessment and certification of occupational qualifications on the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework (OQSF).  The QCTO is one of three Quality Councils (QCs) responsible for a part (the OQSF) of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

Amongst others, according to Section 26(H)(3) of the Skills Development Act, the QCTO is responsible for:

a) Establishing and maintaining occupational standards and qualifications
b) The quality assurance of occupational standards and qualifications and learning in and for the workplace
c) Ensuring the quality of occupational standards and qualifications and learning in and for the workplace

Occupational standards can be regarded as the benchmark of competence required in the occupation, which forms the key components in the QCTO’s occupational qualifications. An Occupational Qualification is a qualification associated with a trade, occupation or profession resulting from work-based learning and consisting of:

a) Theory/Knowledge
b) Practical
c) Work Experience Learning

Given the constant and accelerating pace of change, accreditation with the QCTO not only assist Skills Development Provides to align their skills development strategies to the continual renewal of skills but also focus their efforts to manage the transition of learners to successfully enter the labour market and interrupt, reskill and re-engage in employment throughout their careers.
