About The Event

An effective Employment Equity Committee is at the heart of sustainable compliance and meaningful workplace transformation. Without proper understanding, structure and participation, organisations face increased risk of non-compliance, weak consultation processes, and ineffective EE Plans.

EE Committee Capacitation is a practical, solutions-driven session designed to equip employers, HR teams, EE Committee members and union representatives with the competencies required to operate a legally compliant and value-adding EE Committee.

This programme unpacks the roles, rights and responsibilities of committee members, and provides clear guidance on how to structure and manage consultation processes in line with the Employment Equity Act. Delegates will learn how to engage effectively, contribute meaningfully to EE Plans, and ensure that consultation is not only compliant, but also credible and impactful.

The session also focuses on strengthening governance within the EE function—covering meeting structures, documentation, decision-making processes and alignment with broader organisational transformation goals. Practical insights are provided on how committees can support EE reporting, DG Review readiness, and ongoing monitoring of EE Plan implementation.
